God Send a Revival

What does it Take for God to Send Revival?

(Excerpts from The Quickening, Entering into the Firestorm of God's Grace)

If Spiritual transformation is to become a reality in our lives and in our neighborhoods, then hope must give way to faith and commitment. Our solitary goal must be to prepare the way for the Lord.

                                                                                                                                                                   ~ George Otis Jr ~

Core Principles for Transformation

These principles are not strategies or methodologies. While it is tempting to look for models to copy these principles are even more valuable because they are permeated with reproducible life. They are seeds you can plant.

  1. God wants to be invited into our communities
  2. God is drawn to holiness and humility
    • God keeps the proud at a distance; the humble he brings to himself"
    • God uses broken people
  3. Corporate revival begins with individual obedience
    • Revival is not born out of a mass movement, but out of a series of solitary decisions. Man is impressed by activity; God is impressed by obedience
    • We have to experience the very thing we are praying for
  4. Biblical unity is a majority with God
    • When just a few hungry, holy hearts and holy hearts are joined together for the cause of revival God's presence is near
  5. Breakthrough prayer releases destiny
    • Revival has started in every community with a few "who would not give up...who pressed on…and kept on praying…and kept on crying out to God day after day, week after week, month after month"
  6. God's work will always be unique
    • What he does in one place or on one day may not be the same the next day or in the next place
  7. God uses servant leaders

Common obstacles to transformation

  1. Reliance on programs
  2. Lowered expectations
  3. Misplaced motives
  4. No sense of membership (unity)
    • True unity is not manufactured; it can only be realized as a by-product of humility
  5. Lack of hunger
    • Our greatest nemesis is time

We are not opposed to a divine visitation, we simply want it to arrive at a convenient time and in a comfortable manner "Jesus is the only bridegroom who's bride will hardly speak to him."

Revival is not something we can fit in. it is born out of passion not ambivalence.

If we truly want to see revival we must remove is from the distractions that surround us. Or he will fade into the background noise of our lives.

The time has come to lift the bar of our expectation, to enter into the firestorm of God's grace. George Otis Jr., Executive Producer, "Transformations"
