Our relationship with our Maker
(Deut 6:5, 14, Hebrews 2:3, 1 John 1:9, Ezekiel 11:19-20, Jeremiah 29:13, Joel 2: 12-13, Colossians 1:10)

Sovereign Lord, you are from everlasting to everlasting. How great you are, O Sovereign LORD! You are righteous, good and upright. All your ways are loving and faithful. You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love; in wrath you remember mercy. You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power. You have chosen us in Christ before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in your sight. In love you predestined us to be adopted as your sons through Jesus Christ. We have been marked with the seal of the Holy Spirit. We are not our own; we were bought at a price.

• Forgive us that we have taken for granted so great a salvation
• Forgive us that we have not loved you with heart, soul, mind and strength
• Forgive us that we have placed gods of money, power, prestige, comfort and pleasure before you
• Forgive us for rebellion - turning away from you and your word.

We want to return to you with all our heart, with fasting, weeping and mourning so that you will return to us. We do not want to win the approval of men but of you, God. We pray that you will cause us to seek you fervently and give us an undivided heart that we may love you and obey you in everything. We pray this in order that we may live a life worthy of you, Lord and may please you in every way: abiding in you, bearing fruit in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of you. So we make it our goal to please you, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.

Our relationship with our family
(Ephesians 5:22-30, 1 Peter 3:8-9, Ephesians 6:1,4, Romans 12:10, Leviticus 19:32, 1 Timothy 5:8)

• We pray that every home will have Christ as the Head
• We pray that we will be compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and gentle towards our family    members
• We pray that family members will be sympathetic, humble and forgiving of one another, not repaying evil with evil or    insult with insult, but with blessing instead
• We pray that husbands will love their wives as their own bodies and treat them with respect as co-heirs with Christ
• We pray that wives will be submissive to their husbands as to the Lord & reflect the inner beauty of a gentle, quiet spirit
• We pray that parents will bring up their children with love and discipline in the training and instruction of the Lord
• We pray that all children will obey and respect their parents, teachers and elders
• We pray that brothers and sisters will be devoted to one another, honor one another above themselves, and get rid of    envy and competition
• We pray that we will accept, respect, understand and love our in laws
• We pray that we will treat the old and infirm with honor, love and care
• We pray that we will always help our family members who are in need, especially widows and orphans

Our relationship with the body of Christ
(Ephesians 4:3-6, Philippians 2:3, 2 Peter 2:1-3, Hebrews 10:24, Galatians 5:22-23, Acts 1:14, 2 Corinthians 8:7)

• Help us to make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
• To grasp how wide and long and high and deep is Christ’s love and to love one another as he loves us.
• To do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than ourselves.
• To follow and teach only sound doctrine and refuse to tolerate those who twist the word of God for their own gain and    lead people into sin.
• To constantly exhort one another and hold one another accountable to be true and faithful to you.
• To exhibit the fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
• To unite in prayer frequently for the spread of your kingdom and against the evil we see in our society and the world.
• To excel in the grace of giving and send aid regularly to support your missionaries & evangelists

Our relationship with our environment
(Genesis 1:28, 31, Psalm 107:33-34, Revelations 11:18, Isaiah 11:9)

Lord we acknowledge that when you created the earth you saw that all you had made was very good. Forgive us for causing pollution and destruction of our air, water, forests, wildlife and eco-systems through selfishness, carelessness and greed.

• Help us to generate greater concern for our environment in order to protect and preserve what you have created, and    use our natural resources responsibly, remembering that we are stewards of your Creation
• Give our farmers wisdom to follow agricultural methods that replenish the earth rather than deplete it.
• Help us find nature-friendly methods of pest-control rather than saturate our earth with poisons.
• Help us to find and use alternative sources of energy like the sun, wind, water, bio-gas, etc. wherever possible.
• Help us to support recycling of materials, the use of biodegradable substances and proper waste disposal methods.
• Help us to protect our wildlife and preserve the delicate balance you have created in nature.
• Help us to always make and keep our surroundings clean and beautiful and so be a source of inspiration to others

Our relationship with our community
(Matthew 5:14, Romans 12:2, Jeremiah 22:3, Luke 22:25-27, Colossians 3:23, Acts 1:8)

• Help us to take every opportunity to reach out to this dark world with the light of Christ.
• Help us to not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
• Help us to be examples of righteousness and justice and to defend freedom and reform.
• Help us to minister to the poor, orphans, sick, widows, prisoners, addicts, physically and/or mentally disadvantaged,    illiterate, unemployed, homeless, childless women, refugees and victims of disaster and abuse.
• Cause us to be more eager to serve rather than be served.
• Cause more believers to fill positions of responsibility in educational, training, social and government institutions.
• Cause us to be known for honesty and integrity in all our dealings and be free from the love of money and power.
• Help us to set and maintain excellent standards in every area of work, production and service.
• Help us to be true and effective witnesses to the love and power of the resurrected Christ to those around us.
• Help us to preach the gospel with relevance and sensitivity, with words as well as our exemplary lives, so that the   lost    may be brought into your kingdom and Christ’s name may be glorified

Our relationship with the Country
(Romans 13:1-2, 7, Isaiah 1:17, Psalm 101:5, 2 Chronicles 7:14, 1 Peter 4:12-16)

• May we love our country, be loyal to her and love all our countrymen, whatever be their religious beliefs, cultural    practices or social status.
• Help us to take a stand against.
• war, terrorism, violence and oppression in every form.
• May we be honest and upright in paying our taxes.
• May we exercise our franchise with discernment and responsibility.
• May we not show indifference, but actively oppose the evils and injustices in our society, such as bribery & corruption,    dowry, child marriage, child labor, exploitation of the needy and other such evils.
• May we not indulge in slander and criticism, but bring the shortcomings we see in our people and government to you in    prayer, knowing that you alone can bring about lasting change.
• May our countrymen look upon us with favor as fellow-citizens and not as aliens and strangers.
• May we not fear persecution, but rejoice in sharing Christ’s sufferings in the hope of future glory.

Our relationship with the World
(John 17:14-18, Psalm 82:2-4, Matthew 28:19, Matthew 24:14, Matthew 16:3, 2 Corinthians 10:4, 2 Timothy 3:1-5)

• Help us to love all peoples of the world as brothers, regardless of color, religion or social status.
• Help us to take a stand against war, terrorism, violence and oppression in every form.
• Give us compassion for suffering people in all parts of the globe and let us strive to assist wherever we can.
• May we help to preach the gospel in every corner of the world so that people of every tribe and tongue will hear the    good news and so hasten the coming of your kingdom.
• Help us to stand firm against evil and fight the Prince of this world using your weapons - the Word of God and prayer,    that have divine power to demolish strongholds.
• As we see world events unfold, help us to discern the signs of the times and align ourselves with you and not with  the    world

We offer these prayers in humility and submission, knowing that you hear and will answer in your time, in your way for your glory alone. Amen.
