Revival Prayer Guide to be used on 9th July 2005 "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14
Personal Revival (1 John 1:9, Romans 12:12, Ephesians 5:8-11, Galatians 5:22-23)
	• Pray that as believers we will love the Lord, seek Him fervently, repent of specific sins and trust God to forgive us and help us to obey Him • That our lives will be transformed by the love of Christ • That God will deliver us from rebellion, arrogance, disobedience, envy, greed, gossip, slander, malice and other evil habits and tendencies • That the Holy Spirit will help us to be humble and obedient to His voice and that we will lead Spirit controlled lives • That we would return to the Bible and seek God’s Word daily, apply it to our lives and cooperate with His plans for us • That we would have a quality time of prayer daily, not only speaking to God but also listening to Him • That we would willingly submit to God’s discipline • That we would learn to walk in the Spirit, bear spiritual fruit and exercise spiritual gifts, and live victorious lives
Revival in the family (Joshua 24:15, Colossians 3:18-19. 21, Malachi 2:16, Deuteronomy 6:6-7, Colossians 3:12-14, 1 Timothy 5:8)
	• Pray that Christ would be Lord of every family • That roles and responsibilities of being husband and father, wife and mother will be better understood and conform to the biblical pattern • That there will be correction and transformation in families where the husband or wife has not been playing a positive role • That the Lord will bless all our homes so that love and unity will replace hatred, separation and divorce and the marriages of Christians become exemplary • That children will be brought up with love and discipline and taught to obey God and their parents • That they will be encouraged to trust Jesus as their Savior at an early age • That the spirit of unity, love, understanding, forgiveness and joy will prevail in every Christian home • That young people will seek God’s will and guidance concerning marriage and career • That the old and infirm will be honored by their children and treated with love and care • That widows and orphans will be cared for and will never be neglected or abandoned
Revival in the Church (Ephesians 4:1-6,16, 2 Timothy 2:15, Ezekiel 3:7)
	• Pray that every church will reflect Jesus Christ as members demonstrate forgiveness, acceptance, love and concern for one another and function as one body under the headship of Jesus Christ • That every church will be alive and vibrant under the leading of the Holy Spirit • That prayer and intercession will become an integral part of every church • That through firm faith in Jesus and unceasing prayer, victory will be won over satanic, social and personal evils • That evangelists and pastors will preach and teach God’s word with faithfulness and relevance • That only committed Christians, filled with the Holy Spirit will be chosen to positions of leadership in churches and Christian institutions • That there will be reform, cleansing and transformation in places where there are ungodly leaders • That backsliders will be restored and nominal Christians brought to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus • That sharing the Gospel will become a priority in every church so that many members will be added to the body of Christ
For God to be glorified in and through us (Ephesians 5:1-12, Philippians 1:9-11, Philippians 2:14-16)
	• Pray that we will live holy and consecrated lives, demonstrating God's love and power to the world • That we will retain and affirm every wholesome Indian tradition, custom and cultural practice and reject those that are harmful and unbiblical • That we will be delivered from the ungodly pursuit of divination – astrology, palmistry, numerology, vaasthu, looking for auspicious days, time, etc. • That God’s people will be delivered from remnants of pagan customs like caste, community, dowry, etc.
Unity (John 17:21, 1 Corinthians 12:1-11)
	• Pray that a spirit of unity and peace will replace the spirit of division among all Christians • That denominational barriers will be torn down and the Body of Christ will be united through love and acceptance of one another • That differences not conflicting with basic Bible truths will be celebrated as God's provision for variety, rather than cause division
Freedom for the Gospel (Isaiah 40:5, Luke 10:2, Acts 1:8)
	• Pray for open doors for the Gospel to reach all people in every level of our society • That pockets of resistance in the country and anti-Christian sentiments be broken down in Jesus name, and anti-conversion laws repealed where they are still in vogue • That the people of India will reject communal governments and good secular governments will be established in every State, so that the Gospel may be preached and heard without fear • That God will raise up multitudes of laborers to bring in the harvest • That He will raise up Spirit-filled evangelists, pastors, missionaries and teachers to champion the cause of Christ throughout the nation • That these people will be completely consecrated to the Lord and His work, and be free from pride and egotism • That they will minister according to the gifts that God has given them, and thereby fulfill their ministries • That the whole counsel of God would be preached and taught by the spiritual leaders and that no part of the truth would be avoided for fear of the enemies of the Gospel • That God will bless every medium being used for Gospel proclamation; radio, television, cassettes, books, tracts etc. and open up more doors where these are lacking
Salvation of the people (Psalm 2:8, Isaiah 52:10, Jude 22-23, 2 Corinthians 11:13-15)
	• Pray for God to prepare the soil of the hearts of the people so that the seed sown will take root, grow and bear fruit. • That He will break the power of false religious leaders over the people and cause their overthrow • That He will remove the veil of deception from the eyes of their followers • That people will stop worshipping false gods and will come to know the one true God through His Son Jesus Christ · That every believer would share the Gospel of salvation by word and deed • Pray that millions of Indians will turn to Christ and be saved • That the gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ will reach all people caught in the bondage of various sinful practices, such as addiction to drugs, alcohol and tobacco, immoral lifestyle, pornography, sex trafficking, theft and cheating, idolatry and witchcraft, gluttony, exploitation of widows, women and children, murder, terrorism, etc. • That the Holy Spirit will bring conviction into the hearts of such people and they will turn from their sins in repentance • That God will deliver them from their bondage and break the power of these sins over them • That they will in turn help others who are caught in sin and point them to Jesus for deliverance
For Healing of the Land (2 Chronicles 7:14)
	• Pray that God will convict us of personal and national sins and bring us to national repentance • That He will forgive us according to His promise • Pray for specific needs of different States and Union Territories, focusing on areas needing God's healing and restoration • That drought-affected lands, tsunami-hit areas and cyclone and flood-prone regions will be restored and regenerated • That God would graciously grant sufficient rain to all parts of India • That it will be possible to link all major rivers in India in order to prevent floods and avoid drought • That there will be sufficient food, clean drinking water and fuel for the needs of our people • That there will be sufficient work and income opportunities for every family • That administration of law and order will be just, fair and impartial • That corruption and bribery will be cleansed from our society • That mercy and firmness will lead criminals to be reformed • That trade and industry will flourish, bringing genuine prosperity and economic growth • That we will develop good infra-structure in all towns and villages – roads, electricity, water supply, transport, educational institutions, health services, etc. • That our people will become more public-spirited, disciplined and value cleanliness and orderliness • That God’s mercy and grace will protect us from accidents and disasters • That our country will become safe from terrorism • That borders will be secure and well defined and India will live in peace with her neighbors
We offer these prayers in humility and submission, knowing that you hear and will answer in your time, in your way for your glory alone. Amen.
